How can I have Media Player display controls and open a media as soon as the
web page is diplayed.

Although my replies are related to publishing, the same principles apply
to live editing.

I once (1999) had similar problems with a website that totalled 2Mbytes,
including images etc. Splitting this into 5 (400K each) subwebs enabled
publishing at 5am on Sunday mornings when the world was asleep.
Upgrading the server cured all problems.

One way to check whether the problem lies at the server, and to
establish a limit to the size of a web, is to create a new subweb and
publish/edit it. Start with low content (say 25,000KB) and build up
until problems occur. The content can be copied from an existing web.

Also, download FP Cleaner fromhttp://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htmandrun the routines that
delete the hidden web cache files and temporary files. This may make a
difference.

Thank you for you input. as stated, used FP Cleaner - no
improvement. root web is 274,535KB; sub webs are respectively (KB):
59504; 89422; 89683; 185043; 117807; and 177984. have had trouble
uploading each and every one of the subwebs. my front page is one of
the fanciest, all others are quick and simple, some on the KIT subweb
are in TABLE format. Host says not their problem. am leaning toward
getting Expression Web and slowly switching as you have also
suggested. (or, would it be best to upgrade to Frontpage 2003 - work
out the bugs and THEN switch to Expression Web??) BUT, do not want to
start a new process, until after I figure out if I need to switch web
hosts or not. have been with needa.com for 10 years, and everything
was great in the past. do you feel the problem is on the server side,
or possibly a glitch in my program (as my host says) or what? further
comments appreciated. thank you. Keith
